When you awake in the morning, take a moment to meditate. You don't even have to get out of bed.
Just before rising, become aware of your surroundings. Listen to the sounds around you, whether they are birds singing or the early bustle of people starting their day. The leaves of trees outside might be swaying or click-clacking in the wind, or perhaps the rain is drumming beats on the rooftop. Focus on these little sounds that make up this moment.
Feel the morning sunlight as it gently graces the room. Smell the fresh air of morning and feel the coolness touch your exposed skin. Feel appreciation for all these little things that make up your morning moments.
Now begin to concentrate on your breathing. Notice your breath and how easily it moves through your nose, throat and lungs. Feel the air as it is pulled in and absorbs into your tissues, and is expelled to the environment around you. Be here now. Immerse yourself in the now of your wake.
Feel the past release from your mind. All thoughts of yesterday and tomorrow are cleared away. You are here now and this is all that exists.
Appreciate the soft pillow under your head, the warm blankets and the cleansing breath that is your life force. Let go of any fear or doubt, disappointments or hurts. Accept nature's course. Love your true self and each moment it is immersed in. Love your existence.
Continue breathing and focusing on the moment.
