Week 16 - Feeling Fetal Movement

One of the most memorable and exciting moments of your pregnancy is coming soon. This is about the time you may feel your baby's movements for the first time, also called quickening!

If this is your first pregnancy, you may not notice quickening for another couple of weeks, but it is very common to become aware of these fetal movements at any time up to 24 weeks. In general, thinner moms-to-be will feel quickening earlier than heavier moms-to-be. Your doctor will ask you about these movements from time to time; the week you feel quickening will help your doctor pinpoint your exact due date.
