Kind Words for Morning Sickness

Morning sickness is definitely not something that makes you feel good. So, here are a few things that are sure to put a smile on any pregnant woman's face or at least make them feel a little better.

What to Say

  • You look wonderful!

  • Let me know if I can do anything to help or make you feel better.

  • Can I get you anything?

  • Maybe you should rest.

  • Take it easy/take a break.

  • Go for a walk.

  • You'll feel better soon.

  • Hang in there.

  • Once you get past this, things will be much better.

  • Just think of all the good things ahead.

What NOT to Say

  • It's all in your head.

  • You have to eat something.

  • You'll feel better if you put make-up on (fix yourself up).

  • You'll feel better if you get out of bed.

  • You don't look too happy being pregnant.

  • What's for breakfast/lunch/dinner?

  • Try to get your mind off it.

  • It will just go away or deal with it.

  • You look terrible or miserable.

  • Anything that comes out of anyone's mouth on days when it's really bad.

Sometimes it's best to smile supportively and keep the cold washcloths coming.
